As I write this post I am preparing for a long drive to Kansas City, MO to exhibit and speak at the International Clarinet Association Conference. God knows why anyone would pick one of the biggest family holiday weekends of the year to have a conference, but yes indeed, my 4th of July will be spent networking.
I hope you all have a great 4th! This blog will be plugged back in on Monday July 7th.

Ms. Canning, I thought the same thing about the clarinet meeting. Why have it on the 4th? The international parties probably don’t get how we Americans are so desperate for our holidays. I am from Houston and since the festival was so close (12 hour drive) I thought I’d go. But no it was too much of a hassle. I really did want to see your part of the show of how to integrate art into one’s life. I am a clarinet player and occasional painter, yet work in another field. To be a painter or musician for money almost seems the hard way to retirement. I need to hang out with more people doing that to see what its like.
